How cancellations, refunds and membership renewals work for ICA membership.
If you are not satisfied with your ICA membership purchase, please contact our customer support on 01332 203 333 or email info@ice-cream.org within 14 calendar days of receiving your ICA membership.
Cancelling within 14 days
You may cancel your membership within 14 days of first paying your membership fee. You must give us written notice of cancellation using the contact details below. We will refund your full membership fee, less a £10.00 administration fee, as long as you have not taken advantage of any membership benefits within the 14 day period. If you have, we cannot offer a refund. This right to cancel does not apply if you have previously held an ICA membership.
Your membership term
Your membership runs for a minimum 12 month period from the point your application is first accepted or subsequently renewed, from 1 September to 31 August. This allows the ICA to plan its resources and offer a reliable service to members.
Not renewing
If you do not wish to renew your membership at the end of the 12 month period, you must give us written notice at least one calendar month before your current membership expires.
Direct debit
If you pay by direct debit, your annual membership renews automatically unless you give one calendar month's written notice of your intention not to renew. If you cancel your direct debit midway through your membership, you remain liable for the remaining balance of your membership fee for the year, either as a one-off payment or by reinstating your direct debit.
Upgrading and downgrading
You can upgrade your membership level at any point during your current membership year; additional fees will be chargeable as a one-off payment or by monthly direct debit. You cannot downgrade your membership level during your current membership year — this can only take effect from your next renewal date (31 August), with at least one month's written notice. Without one month's notice, we cannot amend your membership grade until the following renewal date.
Outstanding fees
If you have outstanding membership fees due to the ICA, we reserve the right to suspend your membership and all membership benefits, including access to our services.
