So, Gennaro, welcome to Harrogate. How are you enjoying being here at the Ice Cream & Artisan Food Expo?
I am loving it here. I am so impressed by everyone’s passion for their products. I have just judged in the Mango sorbet class and it was very evident in every mouthful I tasted that these producers have so much passion for what they do. It was a beautiful experience.
You are of course famous for creating Italian food, but what in your opinion makes an excellent ice cream?
I believe that you should have passion for whatever you are making. I believe that you should always use the best possible ingredients, and if you are using fruit, be sure to use whatever is in season. I love to make ice cream from fresh Amalfi lemons. There is nothing like it.
What is your favourite flavour of ice cream?
I love Nocciola (Classic Hazelnut) gelato. I can’t get enough!
