January sees the 30th Annual SIGEP exhibition of products for Ice Cream, Pastry, Confectionery and Bakery in Rimini. The exhibition is regarded as the world’s most important in the artisan ice cream sector, a primary European showcase for artisan Italian confectionery and is also strengthening its position in the artisan bakery field. On show will be all the latest in raw materials, basic products, plant machinery, furnishings and fittings and everything you could possibly imagine for the aforementioned industries. The Ice Cream Alliance will this year have a presence at the exhibition. Zelica and her team will be promoting membership of the Alliance and explaining to the exhibitions worldwide audience what the Alliance is all about.


The exhibition is well worth a visit with 16 halls worth of relevant exhibitors (that’s just 90,000 square metres) and over 95,000 visitors annually; it truly is a spectacular event and a must for the calendar for any ice cream person. Just bring comfortable shoes! For anyone interested in going, The exhibition takes place at Rimini Fiera from 17th – 21st January 2009. Opening hours are from 09.30am – 18.30pm and on the last day, the exhibition will close at 17.00pm. Tickets or admission are €31. Each person attending must prove that he or she is in the trade by means of a business card or other document certifying his or her profession. Ryanair now have a direct flight from Stansted to Rimini and at the time of writing this, flights were free
